About us

Metallschmelzwerk Ulm GmbH (MSU) is an ownermanaged, medium-sized company. It was founded in 1980 from what used to be Ulmer Hüttenwerke GmbH.

Since this time, the level of employment at our company has continuously increased, leading to a constant improvement of our market position.

We currently produce approx. 13,000 tons of copper casting alloys per year. Our market share is approximately 40 % in Germany and 15 % in Europe. We export about 50 % of our production, with deliveries to emerging markets such as China and India becoming increasingly important. About 35 % of our alloys are continuous casting, the remaining 65 % are in ingot quality.
