MSU Metallschmelzwerk Ulm GmbH
MSU Metallschmelzwerk Ulm GmbH is a 100% subsidiary company of the Karl Konzelmann GmbH. In 1980, after taking over the former “Ulmer Hüttenwerke” and after a complete new restructuring (administration- and technologywise) the newborn MSU started production of copper casting alloys.
The MSU and consequently the quality of its products have to face a
daily a global competition in regards to widly accepted international
standards. To secure our success as well as the success of our customers,
the philosophy of the MSU focusses absolutely on the needs of its clients.
Already in 1996 the MSU was certified according to the DIN EN ISO 9002.
Since 1998 the MSU managed to be the sole German manufacturer of copper
casting alloys in continuous casting.
POSITIONING
With an annual production capacity of 25.000 t of copper casting
alloys, the MSU has a leading position in Europe. In 2000 the MSU will
produce approximately 18.000 t. 60 % of the production will in form of
continuous casting. These figures describe a market share of 23% regarding
German production. The significant position of the MSU is also documented
by the high export share of 40%.
SERVICE
Due to the long experience, the MSU developed to a leading specialist
in terms of production and recycling of copper and alloys.More and more
emphasis is laid upon the process of recycling extracted residues of our
customers back to the production process. For this is the reason we are
taking an important function in respect of the waste disposal management
of our customers.
